VSEPR
(Valence Shell Electron Pair Repulsion)
Lets start from the base. VSEPR also known as Valence Shell Electron Pair Repulsion is basically a set of rules which can allow us to look at a two-dimensional molecule and figure out what the molecule looks like in three-dimensions. This is because in real life, the molecules are actually three-dimensional and are often complex, which is where the VSEPR theory comes in. VSEPR theory allows us to draw the molecues in two-dimensional Lewis structures. There are 5 main shapes which contribute to the VSEPR theory.
